ABOUT US

We are a network of producers who promote sustainable production systems

Commitment to Sustainability

From Aapresid, we promote the no-tillage system based on ZERO TILLAGE as a basic practice, but which must necessarily be accompanied by other practices to evolve from simplified systems to complex systems, and thus manage to promote systems that emulate natural ecosystems. What are these pillars?

No-Tillage System

No-tillage is a technique that allows cultivation without tillage and is the form of production that we promote from Aapresid as agricultural producers.

However, tillage agriculture is still the most widely used model for food production in the world.

Live soils all year round

Ensuring that our lots have crops or are covered throughout the year.

The permanent interaction of soil organisms with plants and their roots must be continuous in order to enhance the biological activity of the soil and the processes it regulates, as well as to maximize the use of available resources.

It reduces soil erosion and improves water productivity.

Different landscapes

Planning sequences knowing each environment, objective and how to enhance synergies, alternating different functional groups and using service crops as strategic allies.

This allows us to improve productivity, ensure a 'balanced diet' for soil organisms and guarantee the stability and resilience of our nonrenewable resource: the soil.

Ecological Nutrient Management

Performing comprehensive fertility diagnosis.

It is necessary to know the physical health of our soils. If the structure is deficient, the plant will not be able to take advantage of the nutrients applied.

We must adopt a balanced nutrition approach: i.e. take into account the use of all available nutrient sources (crop residues, SC, biological inputs, fertilizers, mineral fertilizers, etc.).

New technologies are strategic allies of integrated management.

Ecological Pest Management

We must monitor our lots to identify and classify pests

Use of agronomic practices: crop rotation, use of SC, choice of genetics, FS, density, etc. to control them.

Promotion of biological control is needed: biodiversity strips and crop rotation.

Correct use of chemical tools: rotation of active ingredients, use of shelters, optimal quality and timing of application.

Technology Application and Use

The application of new technologies is necessary, such as management by environments, AI, new molecules, selective applications of inputs, biotechnologies. Technology is a fundamental ally for efficient and sustainable production.

Our History
1970

Producer Group

1970 - 1980 - First no-tillage trials in Argentina carried out by those who nowadays are Aapresid's pioneers.

1976 - 77 - First no-tillage trials in the Pampas region.

1989

Founding of Aapresid

1989 - In a famous meeting in Arequito, province of Santa Fe, Víctor Trucco, as president, and a group of producers gave birth to AAPRESID.

1990

First Congress

1990 - 1st Mini Congress (Rosario) with an attendance of 150 producers. A space for the promotion of no-till farming and the creation of spaces for interaction and exchange.

1990

First Regional Group

1990 - The first Regional Group was North of Buenos Aires, which grouped Pergamino and Alcorta, and emerged in the early 1990s.

1993

First UPA

1993 - First UPA Conference “Un Productor en Acción”, at “La Lucía” owned by Jorge Romagnoli, in Monte Buey (Córdoba). Nearly 800 people attended.

1993/95

Aapresid Joven

1993/95 - Aapresid Joven was founded. An exchange space for students and young producers. Together with the Aapresid's pioneers, they introduced the no-tillage system into the universities.

2011

Resistant Weeds Knowledge Network (REM)

2011 - A new program launched in collaboration with academic and scientific institutions, specialists, technicians, and companies.
Today, it has evolved into the PlagueManagement Network (REM).

2013

First International Regional Group

2013 - Lavras do Sul becomes Aapresid's first International Regional Group. Brazilian agronomist Gerson Herter was one of the key mentors behind its creation.

2018

Service Crops Network

2018 - The first network is established to generate knowledge and promote the exchange of experiences related to service crops in different environments and production systems across the country.

2022

Carbon Network

2022 - A network is created to assess the current status of Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) and the Carbon Footprint of various production systems in the country, as well as to develop and share management strategies that support the fight against climate change.

2023

Aaprender Institute

2023 - A training space aimed at enhancing and developing new skills for fieldwork and decision-making, with a focus on systems thinking, competitiveness, and the sustainable use of resources.

Present

Our community

Present - We are a network of more than 1,800 members that promotes Aapresid's mission to position our country and the production system as a technological and sustainability reference.

International Scope

imagen ilutrativa planeta

The world is facing a growing global food, fiber and energy demand, and the challenge of the need of agriculture land.

However, with the use of technology, no-tillage techniques, with the construction of living and diverse systems, applying the networked knowledge and experience of our producers, we are able to increase that productive potential, being more efficient in the use of resources and environmentally friendly, i.e., emitting a smaller carbon footprint.

“I am an Agricultural Engineer and a member of the Paraná regional of Aapresid. The institution has allowed me to stay in constant contact with innovation and with the experience of a group of producers and professionals linked to agricultural production with a shared mission and vision.”

Pablo GuelperínAapresid’s member

“Being a member of Aapresid means being part of a community committed to sustainable agriculture, caring for natural resources, and especially the soil, which provides the main support in our production systems. It allows us to access knowledge, opportunities, and resources to improve our productivity.”

Pedro MaggioMember of Aapresid and Aapresid Young

“I am an Agricultural Engineer, and I work in the central-southern part of the province of Santa Fe. I have been a member of Aapresid for a year and a half. My experience has been more than positive and gratifying due to all the contributions they make to the sector and to my work in particular. Experiences, strategies, trials, research; very important information that helps me make decisions.”
